Personalised training, not pre-planned courses

We understand that everyone has different goals and starting points, so rather than doing specific courses, we aim to provide individualised training plans to help you reach your specific destination.

We start by assessing each person’s skills, aspirations and budget and then create a customised plan of action for you to follow. This plan includes one-on-one training sessions as well as group classes, ensuring you get the best of both worlds.

First-time beginner classes (once off)

Our one-on-one first-timer class costs R500 per lesson and is a once-off full foundation class. Here we take you through all of the basics. Lessons tend to run Weekdays from 09:00 to 13:00

Individual classes

Our one-on-one classes cost R350 per day. Lessons tend to run Weekdays from 09:00 to 13:00

Group Classes

Group lessons are R200 per day and tend to run from 09:00 to 13:00 on various Saturday's

Sewing Machine Rentals

For those who don't have their own machine to use in the class, we charge R100 per machine rental per day for the rental of our Brother Innov-is A150 computerised machine. This is a very user-friendly machine, perfect for every level of trainee.

Tool rentals

We charge a R50 fee per day for the use of all our sewing and embroidery accessories like scissors, bobbins, cutters, threads, etc. but if you have your own toolkit we'd always recommend that you bring your own to class to use.

No qualifications or paperwork are needed to sign up for our training plans. All you need is a bit of passion and enthusiasm to take on this new journey with us!

Own your own machine?

We highly recommend bringing your sewing or embroidery machine to class so we can train you on the machine you'll be using. Before each class, we'll inform you of any specific fabrics or accessories needed. Additionally, we suggest bringing your own sewing/embroidery tools (scissors, bobbins, etc.) for a more personalised learning experience.

Don't own your own machine?

No problem! We offer machine rentals for R100 per day. Plus, if you don't have your own sewing tools, we provide all the necessary tools and accessories for an additional R50 per day. We've got you covered!

For experienced sewists looking to master intricate techniques and challenging projects:

Advanced fitting: Complex alterations for tailored garments, such as shoulder adjustments, bust shaping, and sleeve modifications.
Pattern drafting and design: Creating custom patterns from scratch or modifying existing patterns for unique designs.
Fine garment finishing: French seams, bound buttonholes, and lining techniques.

For those with little to no experience with sewing. As a beginner you are still figuring out the following:

Sewing machine operation: Threading, bobbin winding, stitch selection, and basic troubleshooting.
Fabric preparation: Understanding grainline, cutting fabric, and marking.
Seams: Straight seams, finishing edges with zigzag or serger, and pressing.
Hemming: Machine hemming techniques.
Basic garment construction: Simple projects like tote bags, pillowcases, or elastic waist skirts.

For individuals with some sewing experience who want to expand their skills:

Advanced machine techniques: Sewing curves, corners, and pivoting.
Understanding sewing patterns: Reading pattern instructions, layout, and cutting.
Fitting and alterations: Basic adjustments for fit such as lengthening/shortening, and grading between sizes.
Inserting closures: Installing zippers, buttons, and buttonholes.
Introduction to garment construction techniques: Setting sleeves, sewing collars, and adding pockets.
Fabric selection and handling: Understanding different fabric types and their properties.
